Portraits with Cary Grant Style: Daniel Kebriti, Head of Manufacturing at LUSH
A great portrait communicates presence, credibility and personality. It's a bonus when your subject has just a little Cary Grant style!
Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Daniel Kebriti, Head of Manufacturing at LUSH, whose portraits will be published on LinkedIn and media releases, magazine articles, conference promotions and the LUSH company website.
For Photographers: My Lighting Setup
Here’s the setup I used for this session:
-
Main Light: A Profoto strobe with a small octagonal softbox and grid. This gave me directional control while keeping the falloff soft and flattering, especially around the face.
-
Fill Light: A parabolic umbrella on a second Profoto head, positioned to subtly lift the shadows without flattening the overall look.
-
Background Light: A Godox head with a 40-degree grid to create separation and just the right amount of highlight behind Daniel’s shoulders — clean, professional, and subtle enough not to distract.
The combination of gear and modifiers gave me flexibility while maintaining consistency across different poses and framing. The octabox with grid allowed me to sculpt light on the face without spill, while the parabolic umbrella helped keep the specular yet dimensional. The background light added a gentle pop that makes the final images feel complete.
