Dynamic Photos For New Clown Doctors

Image
There are some new Clown Doctors in town... The Humour Foundation have thoroughly trained these highly specialised laughter professionals ready to visit our children's hospitals and aged care facilities. Today we met at the Children's Hospital RNSH. A tough one for me as we were in exactly the spot where my daughter spent some time after a traumatic incident a few years back. I thought I'd be okay but turns out I was a little shaken. Then I was reminded of the beautiful sparkle in her eyes when she told me the clown Docs had paid her a visit and I was okay. We went on to get some great shots which will be used for calling cards for each of the Docs. If you are interested in the work the Clown Doctors do, you can visit their website to find out more: https://humourfoundation.org.au/ About the author Nina Beilby – Professional Photographer With a degree in professional photography (AAS PP Honors) and over 25 years of experience, Nina Beilby is a highly skilled photographer ...

Graduation Photo's - Don't Miss This Important Day of Your Life

Image
Graduation day can be a bit of a whir.  The ceremonies, the parade, walking onstage to accept your degree, the speeches and the after parties.  You'll be elated and proud and generally on a high of happiness. It is a wonderful achievement just to make it through. During all of the buzz, p eople will be snapping phone pics. They are great memories but take it from me, in a few years you'll wish you had put a little more effort into your photos.   I graduated in the USA and could bring as many family and friends as I wanted to the ceremony but here in Australia quite often you are only allowed two. Like my client. He really wanted a professional photo with his grandmother to remember forever. What a lovely idea. Nana was in a wheelchair but managed to stand for a few quick shots and a huge hug from her grandson. It was very emotional for me because sadly, my Nana died shortly before my graduation. Sharing this moment with my clients was just wonderful and I'm so glad they f...

Portrait of an Unconventional Senior Lawyer

Image
Achieving the imagery you desire is directly related to your ability to communicate these wishes to me, your photographer. In this case, Amanda did just that. We worked together to achieve an outcome we were both really happy with. A senior lawyer with an unconventional style, Amanda wanted something that reflected this style so together we worked on the lighting style, background colour and clothing until we settled on the following look, which we both loved. One of the best ways to collect ideas for your profile photo shoot is to use Pinterest. Gathering samples and putting them into albums helps you collate your preferences before sharing them with me. Important - Why you need a better LinkedIn Headshot

Image
No Photo You know yourself when looking over someone's profile on LinkedIn, the first thing you do is check out their photo.  I personally get messages and requests daily. If there isn't a photo, I delete it immediately.  Bad Photo If it is a bad photo, I think about it a second, then delete it. If it is a nice professional photo showing a confident business person, I definitely check out their profile and most likely add them as a contact. First place recruiters look is your photo Don't just take my word for it.  The Ladders  research into recruiter behaviour proves it. As shown in the heat map below, whilst looking over profiles, the first place the recruiter looked was the photo and they spent 19% of their total time looking at it. That's a lot of heat! Professional Photos are not expensive... Business Insider  has some great tips on the do's and don'ts for you profile photo. And as it isn't that expensive, I would say it is an easy investment. My basic h...

When Headshots Matter

Image
This holistic health team at  Elemental Health  had a great website. Every page was informative, professional and in its entirety, the website was aesthetically pleasing. The only glitch was the page featuring the team of practitioners.  It lacked uniformity and professionalism. The photos were dark, badly lit giving them an unfriendly feel.  Before... After... It is really important that when you are looking for someone with whom you will trust you specialist care, that they look competent yet approachable and friendly. When you have a team of people, it is a good idea to choose a backdrop colour that will be suitable for majority of skin types and hair colour as well as work well with the colours on your website so we chose the light grey. You cannot go wrong with grey. It is complimentary for every colour and every skintone. The team have received countless comments so far and plenty of phone calls. Will update the post with more accurate stats as soon as t...

LinkedIn Top Tip - Keywords In Your Photos

Image
Adding Keywords to your images can help your profile be found on LinkedIn and Websites What Are Keywords? Keywords are what search engines and sites like LinkedIn use to find relevant pages or profiles. So if I'm a recruiter looking for a top level CFO, I might search executive management, financial reporting, business strategy or performance management as these are the key skills I'm looking for.  Keywords drive recruiters and clients to your profile.   Loading up your LinkedIn profile with relevant keywords will ensure that your profile will pop up in searches. Use keywords in your: 1. Headlines 2. Job Title 3. "About" section 4. Skills and endorsements 5. Photographs Keywords in your photographs In addition to adding keywords in the sections described above, adding keywords to your LinkedIn Profile photo can help searchers find your profile. Your photographer can load up your profile images full of keywords relevant to your particular profes...
